RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to terms for a two-year deal with forward Andrej Nestrasil.

The deal will pay Nestrasil $875,000 this season and $950,000 in the 2016-17 season.

In a statement, general manager Ron Francis says the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Nestrasil has good size and is "a good fit for our team and what we're trying to do."

The 24-year-old made his NHL debut last season, scoring seven goals with 13 assists in 54 games with Detroit and Carolina. The Hurricanes acquired him on waivers in November.
