Hurricanes' Lack unveils new pads

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Eddie Lack certainly has embraced his new team.

Acquired from the Vancouver Canucks at the 2015 NHL draft, Lack showed the Hurricanes that he's committed by placing the team's logo on every piece of his equipment. The pads have a white base with red and black trim, while the most obvious distinction is the large logo split between each piece.

While Lack undoubtedly will look good in his new pads, the jury is out on just how much action he'll see as he battles Cam Ward for starting duties. Ward, who was the 2006 Conn Smythe Trophy recipient, went 22-24-5 with one shutout and a 2.40 goals-against average last season.

Lack posted an 18-13-4 mark with two blankings and a 2.45 goals-against average in 41 appearances with the Canucks in 2014-15. The 27-year-old Swede was acquired by Carolina in a deal that sent a third-round pick of the 2015 draft and seventh-round selection of the 2016 draft to Vancouver.
